How to prepare for Trinity ISE II
The key to passing Trinity ISE II is preparation. The exam won’t surprise you if you are familiar with the activities and have done some work in advance.
Trinity is especially good at providing lists of language and topics which can be expected at each level, so as long as you prepare those, you should be in good shape for the exam.
Here are some things you can do to prepare for the exam:
- Prepare your speaking topic in advance – You can choose almost any topic you like to speak about in the first part of the speaking exam, just don’t choose one that’s the same as the conversation topics.
- Learn your ISE II topics – The list of topics for ISE II includes things like national customs and environmental concerns. Make sure you have studied vocabulary and read articles about these topics to prepare.
- Work on your writing – I often find writing is one of the biggest challenges at B2 level, but it’s also an area you can improve quickly. You’ll need to write essays, letters/emails, reviews, articles and reports.
- Make listening in English a habit – Find something to listen to, like a podcast on TuneIn Radio, and listen to it everyday.
- Read articles – There are great online versions of magazines like National Geographic which make reading in English enjoyable because the length is more manageable than reading a novel.
- Take a class – There is no substitute for taking a class and having the opportunity to practise and communicate with a teacher and classmates in English.
